LOCAL AUTHORITY CEMETERIES

CANTERBURY, HERNE BAY and WHITSTABLE
Until the UK's local government reorganisation in the 1970s Canterbury, Herne Bay and Whitstable each had a town council with a burial committee to manage their own burial ground.

The local government authority for Canterbury, Herne Bay and Whitstable since the 1970s is Canterbury City Council. The council's Bereavement Unit now administers the three local authority cemeteries centrally from their offices. write to: Cemeteries Registrar, Canterbury City Council, Military Road, Canterbury Kent CT1 1YW
